This lecture is from the University of Chicago Summer Teacher Institute's 2014 program "Energy and the Global Environment: Science, History, Politics." In this lecture, Alex Barna gives an overview of how the discovery and production of oil shaped the Modern Middle East. This is primarily a reference resource for teachers, but could be used in an upper level high school or university classroom as well.
