Jusuur Arabic Language Program Book 1: Mahmoud’s daily schedule, Levantine dialect (برنامج محمود، العامية ) (with images)

In partnership with Georgetown University Press, QFI sponsored a series of Arabic language videos for educators and students to accompany its new “Jusuur Textbook”. The accompanying video series is an excellent classroom resource for teachers looking to integrate new linguistic and cultural activities in the classroom.

In this video, a person talks about his daily schedule.

Suggested In-Classroom Activity:

Write some sentences about Mahmoud’s daily schedule (in Arabic or English appropriate for their level). First, have students decide if the activity takes place on a weekday or weekend. For the weekday activities, have students place in the order in which they take place. After they have been placed in the correct order, have students add other details from the video such as times of day or connectors such as “before/after,” etc.

Sample sentences:

Order
