Jusuur Arabic Language Program Book 1: Nadine and Ashraf’s hobbies, Levantine dialect (هوايات نادين وأشرف، العامية) (with images)

In partnership with Georgetown University Press, QFI sponsored a series of Arabic language videos for educators and students to accompany its new “Jusuur Textbook”. The accompanying video series is an excellent classroom resource for teachers looking to integrate new linguistic and cultural activities in the classroom.

In this video, you will hear two siblings discuss their hobbies in Jordanian/Levantine Arabic.

Suggested In-Classroom Activity:

Teachers write some statements in Arabic based on the listening and students determine if they are true or false. Some examples can be:

- Ashraf and Nadine like to watch soccer.
- Ashraf likes all sports.
- Ashraf likes to play games on his phone.
- Nadine listens to Arabic music every day.
- Nadine doesn’t like to dance.

Note: This video is also available without images/photos.

Video also available in Modern Standard Arabic.
