Jusuur Arabic Language Program Book 1: At Taghreed’s house (في بيت تغريد)

In partnership with Georgetown University Press, QFI sponsored a series of Arabic language videos for educators and students to accompany its new “Jusuur Textbook”. The accompanying video series is an excellent classroom resource for teachers looking to integrate new linguistic and cultural activities in the classroom.

In this video, someone meets a friend’s family members and then shows pictures of her own family.

Suggested In-Classroom Activity:

Have students create a photo album of a real or fake family. In groups, have students share the album and introduce members of their family and describe them. Before moving onto another photo, the person(s) looking at photo must ask a question about the person in the picture.

Vocabulary in focus: greetings, Arab hospitality, introductions, family, describing family members
