Jusuur Arabic Language Program Book 1: What time is it? (كم الساعة؟)

In partnership with Georgetown University Press, QFI sponsored a series of Arabic language videos for educators and students to accompany its new “Jusuur Textbook”. The accompanying video series is an excellent classroom resource for teachers looking to integrate new linguistic and cultural activities in the classroom.

This is a video compilation of 4 scenes about asking what time it is and telling the time.

Suggested In-Classroom Activity:

Have students stand in two lines facing each other. One line will pretend they are asking a stranger for the time. The other line will answer based on a time they choose or are assigned by the teacher. The students asking should write down the time they are told and display it to their partner to confirm accuracy. Keep students in one of the two lines rotating. You should ask students to remember to greet each other, politely ask for the time, say thank you before moving to the next person.

Vocabulary: greetings, asking and telling time
