In partnership with Georgetown University Press, QFI sponsored a series of Arabic language videos for educators and students to accompany its new new “Jusuur Textbook”. The accompanying video series is an excellent classroom resource for teachers looking to integrate new linguistic and cultural activities in the classroom.
In this video, two people greet each other and exchange telephone numbers.
Suggested In-Classroom Activity:
Have students create a class phonebook by collecting their classmate’s telephone numbers. Students can use a fake number so long as they use the same one for duration of the activity and it has 5 different numbers. The student who collects the most numbers can get recognition or a prize.
Vocabulary in focus: exchanging telephone numbers, greetings, excusing one’s self/taking leave
