In partnership with Georgetown University Press, QFI sponsored a series of Arabic language videos for educators and students to accompany its new “Jusuur Textbook”. The accompanying video series is an excellent classroom resource for teachers looking to integrate new linguistic and cultural activities in the classroom.

In this video, you will see an example of Arab hospitality in which a person visits an Arab home.

Suggested In-Classroom Activity:

Have each student write down how they typically receive guests in their home. Have them act it out in class. Discuss what is shared and is different in hospitality practices as a class.

As students watch this video, have them reflect on the similarities and differences they notice between what they discussed a class.
