This lesson is designed to help students explore all the ways dance is important to a culture. It focuses on Dabke, a dance that is valued in the Levant region of the Middle East and how this dance is used to unite people. Students will learn a simplified version of Dabke and are expected to participate in learning the steps and doing it together with classmates. This lesson is intended to be used as a social studies or cultural geography lesson for middle or high school students and can be completed in one class period.
