Lesson Plan: Sectarianism, Monticello to the Middle East

This lesson aims to help students understand sectarianism and the ways in which humans cause divisions amongst humans. It focuses on the reasons that sectarianism exists and analyzes the negative impacts it has on societies in order to help students internalize the concept and take some sort of action to breakdown factions that exist within their communities. This lesson is deigned for upper primary school students but can be adapted for secondary school students and takes one to two class periods to implement.
