Lesson Unit: New Egyptian Capital, Another Neoliberal Experiment?

This lesson aims to give students a background and understanding of neoliberalism as a development strategy and its impact on people and urban spaces. By reading case studies and analyzing some neighborhoods of Cairo, students will be able to explain the positive and negative consequences of neoliberal urban development and change. This lesson is intended for students at the secondary school level and can be implemented in one to three class periods.
