Webinar: Teaching Mixed-ability Groups of Heritage and Non-heritage Learners

In this webinar, El Hassan Bouguern looks at approaches and techniques teachers can employ when dealing with mixed-ability classes that contain heritage and non-heritage learners of Arabic.

Both groups have their own needs and Arabic experiences and may have very different attitudes towards the language.

However, as language learners, there are many commonalities between them. El Hassan shows how, rather than being divided into separate groups to work in isolation of each other, they should learn together, for there is great potential to mutually enrich each other’s learning journey.

El-Hassan Bouguern (PGDE, MA-Ed.) is a teacher and teacher trainer with a background in educational research and applied linguistics of Arabic and English. He has been working in the field of language teaching and training since 2006.
